Good used frame (now taped and with hanging cord)\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis tile looks like it was painted around the end of the 19th century and this would tally with the clothing worn by the people in the scene. It is entirely hand painted in enamels which have been fired beneath a glossy glaze (it was not transfer printed).  The title on the tile reads \"Old Tolbooth Edinbro\".  There are no marks on the back of the tile, which is earthenware.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eA really nice antique item.
