The bowl has a very precise rim and central turned line around the belly, finished further with iron based slip, and fired unglazed at stoneware temperature.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-size: large;\"\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-size: large;\"\u003eIt is marked with the impressed stamp of Arthur J Griffiths (1928-2016). \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-size: large;\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eArthur worked at Crowan Pottery for Harry Davis and at the Leach pottery in St. Ives. His friend and colleague David Leach asked him in 1954 to be head of Ceramics at Lougborough College of Art and Design, where he spent almost three decades before retiring in 1983 from Loughborough College of Art to concentrate on his own work.
