The back of the frame carries what looks like an auction number, a label of Aldridge Brothers, frame makers, Worthing, and ink stamps (Windsor \u0026amp; Newton etc) on the back of the canvas.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eHarold Hume Piffard (1867-1939) was a lively character. He trained at the Royal Academy Schools, \u003cspan\u003eexhibiting his first painting at the Royal Academy \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003ein 1895\u003c\/span\u003e. He illustrated over 100 books, such as Burnett’s A Little Princess.
