This superb print is signed by the artist, number 53 of and edition of 150, and titled "Wet Slipway".  it is made in H J Jackson's inimitable style, using five colours (each a different lino plate) and hand printed, with a wonderful rich texture to the surface, especially in the black colour.

John (H J) Jackson is a celebrated printer.  He was born in 1938 in King's Lynn, Norfolk, and grew up in Melton Constable in the same county. His father worked on the railways, and Jackson's prints have always sought the extraordinary in industrial life, not least in the fishing industry, taking the fishing ports of Norfolk as his inspiration.  He studied and the Norwich School of Art, and is now a Senior Fellow of the Royal Society of Painter Printmakers and a Member of the Society of Wood Engravers. Mr Jackson has perfected his craft, not using a press but hand-burnishing each of his full-colour linocuts with a tobacco tin.
This print was exhibited at the Bircham Gallery in Holt in 2019.  There is also an article in Norfolk Life from October 2023, about a retrospective exhibition of Jackson's prints, with a photograph of him holding his tobacco tin, which he uses to burnish his print, with an impression of this particular linocut.
