Melanie  studied arts foundation at Wimbledon School of Art, BA Hons. Ceramics at Bristol Polytechnic and Masters Degree in Ceramics at Cardiff school of Art. She has had her own studio since 1978 and has exhibited work in the UK and in Japan, America and Europe.  Melanie also teaches ceramics, and from 1990 to 2004 she was senior lecturer on the BA course at the university of Wolverhampton and taught on the BA course at Cardiff School of Art.  In 2004 Melanie decided to devote all her time to her own work and received a Creative award from the Arts Council of Wales. \u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003eMelanie now makes collections of teapots usually characterised by an elaborate domed lid.
