The impressed marks are those used by Ruthanne from 1987 to 2002.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eRuthanne Tudball is the author of the first book on Soda Glazing, published by A\u0026amp;C Black. Her thrown, hand built and faceted work is held in public and private collections across the world including Europe, North America, Australia and Asia.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAssembled and manipulated, Ruthanne’s work captures the soft organic quality of clay and is all completed while still wet. Inspired by the natural world, she celebrates the rhythms and creative forces of the earth and the human body in her pieces. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBorn and brought up in California, USA, Ruthanne moved to the UK after meeting an English foreign exchange student at high school, who would go on to become her husband. They became pen pals and after leaving school she moved to England, studied English at Reading University and they got married. Ruthanne worked as a journalist, before discovering clay and teaching herself to throw on the wheel.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn 1978 Ruthanne set up her own studio, combining potting and teaching with raising her young family.
