Condition:  print in very good condition, some marks from old mounting tape top edge and bottom right corner. Frame and mount new.

A gorgeous woodcut print from a master of the art.  Printed in several colours on wove paper, with Seaby's monogram in the print and also his pencil signature bottom margin.

Allen William Seaby (1867 – 1953) is best known as an ornithological painter and printmaker, and a specialist in the art of the woodcut print.  He was Professor of Fine Art at the University of Reading and the author of several art books for students, and he also wrote and illustrated books for children.
