This painting is one of a number by McAdam Clark showing scenes in the area near her Suffolk home. Her work is usually of a small size and concentrates landscape into bands and patterns, often inspired also by specific landmarks of an industrial or semi industrial nature.
Caroline McAdam Clark was born in 1947 in London, to a French mother and Scots father, and spent her early years in Quito, Lisbon and Vienna. She gained a fine art master’s honours degree at Edinburgh University and her diploma in art and design from Edinburgh College of Art. During her career she has mixed painting with a wide variety of roles including teacher, lecturer, illustrator, graphic designer, muralist, and trompe l'oeil artist. She has held over 20 solo exhibitions in a variety of locations including London, Paris and Suffolk, where she lives, and was elected a member of the Royal Watercolour Society in 2011.
