Condition: Excellent condition, no chips cracks or restoration.

The classic teapot was designed for the Swedish firm of Rörstrand by Gunnar Nylund in the late 1950's or early 1960's.  It is made in a fine porcellaneous clay and has a hare's fur glaze influenced by Chinese pottery of the 12th/13th centuries. The handle is made of cane with two small metal holding rings.

The piece is marked as a second (this is denoted by a cut line in the markings underneath).  As often the marking of seconds was a bit arbitrary, and here the only apparent reason is a glaze pop underneath one of the feet.  Otherwise it is a lovely example in excellent condition.
