Jane Hamlyn MBE, porcelain salt glazed British studio pottery vase, c2000

Condition:  Very good condition, no chips cracks or restoration. Some slight firing cracks in the base (part of the making).

This elegant vase is an unusual piece for Jane Hamlyn in that it is made in porcelain, but in other respects it has all her hallmarks.  It is hand thrown and the shape then altered and decorated with various slips and oxides, before being fired in her salt glaze kiln. The finish is glossy, especially around the rim. Jane's impressed mark is near the foot.
