This dynamic image is drawn using a variety of media including ink, watercolour and gouache and crayon. We would guess that the Hacker Becker of the title of the drawing is a local character from the area of Leiston in Suffolk, where Michael Philpot was based.
Michael George Philpot (1934-2021) was born in Suffolk and ran three art groups voluntarily, at Leiston, Aldeburgh Art Group at the Baptist Chapel and Kelsale Art Group at Kelsale Chapel. He went by bicycle from one art group to the other every week purely for the love of art, without any financial support with the motto 'Have brush, will travel'. He exhibited at the Aldeburgh Cinema Gallery, with mixed shows at Aldeburgh Gallery, High Street and Seizmond Gallery, Saxmundham and with the Aldeburgh Baptist Chapel group annually from 1995 until 2019.
