Condition: painting in excellent condition, frame and mount new.
This amazing work is incredibly detailed in its execution and a very striking image.
The painting is done on black paper which has been lightly spotted so that it resembles a night sky. The owl sits on a wooden post which has some tiny fungi, all meticulously painted. The rat in the owl's beak appears to be a black rat.
The painting is signed R Howes and dated 1978. We have no information on the artist.
